Leinster/Oireachtas House

Today, Leinster House (National Parliament of Ireland) is the seat of the two Houses of the Oireachtas (National Parliament), comprising Dáil Éireann (the House of Representatives) and Seanad Éireann (the Senate). This is a magnificent imposing building located in one of Dublin's most elegant and landmark Georgian districts, Merrion Square. Tours are provided by Oireachtas Ushers who have a historical and educational knowledge of both the building itself and the workings of the two Houses. Most tours take between 25 to 30 minutes and when the House is in session it may also be possible to sit for a short period of time in the Public Gallery. Tours are normally taken at 10.30am, 11.30am, 2.30pm and 3.30pm - Monday to Friday.

The House is in session on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Appointments for tours are made with the Events Desk (event.desk@oireachtas.ie). People wishing to go on a tour of the Houses of the Oireachtas need to be sponsored by a Member/Embassy. For more information view www.oireachtas.ie
